Amount. Date. A clear calculation.
Convert currencies at official central bank rates — with the date, the source and the formula behind every result.
What goes into the result
Official rate
The rate of the central bank you choose, as published for the chosen date in its own tables.
A plain method
Result = amount × official rate. Fees of banks, payment systems and intermediaries are not included.
Source and date
Every result names its source, the rate and the date of the rate, so it can be checked against the original publication.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there no rate for the date I chose?
Central banks publish on their working days. For a weekend or a holiday the converter uses the last rate published before it and says so, with that rate’s date.
Which rate sources can I use?
The central banks Fincast follows: European Central Bank, Narodowy Bank Polski, National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, Banco Central do Brasil, Bank of Canada, Bank of Japan, Federal Reserve H.10. Each publishes rates against its own currency, so the sources on offer depend on the pair.
Are bank fees included?
No. The result is the amount multiplied by the official rate; a bank or an exchange office applies its own rate and fees.
Can I use the result for accounting or business?
The result is for reference. For accounting, tax or a contract, check which rate and which date your rules require, and compare with the source’s own publication.
